MINI is both the name of a division of BMW as well as that of a car produced by that division since April 2001. The car, designed by Frank Stephenson, is a retro redesign of the original Mini, made by the British Motor Company and its successors from 1959 to 2000. Purchasing a used Mini Cooper can be recommended to driving enthusiasts that seek an unconventional combination of engineering, design and attitude. The pre-owned models are available as either a 2 door hatchback or convertible and feature a 1.6 litre inline 4 cylinder engines that whips out an adequate 118 horses at 6,000 RPM and 114 lb-ft of torque at 4,250. A 6 speed manual transmission is standard equipment while a 6 speed automatic is optional. Used Mini Coopers are front wheel-driven and require a modest 17.5 feet of turning radius. Both body styles also have an 816 pound payload capacity. There is also the Cooper S trim with turbocharged engine that delivers 172 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Used Mini Cooper cars measure 145.6 inches in length, 66.3 inches in width and 55.4 inches in height. On the inside of a used Mini Cooper you will find a standard seating for four passengers with 39 inches of headroom, 50 inches of shoulder room and 41.4 inches of legroom.
